In its 18th year, the City of Wilton Manors proudly presents the 2017 Wilton Manors Stonewall Parade & Festival. A star studded Parade featuring local community heroes, dignitaries, and organizations will commence at 4 pm.

You are invited to register for the Parade by clicking the link below for pricing and entry. The deadline to register for the parade is Wednesday, June 14th..

You will be required to provide proof of insurance and driver’s license if your operating a moving vehicle. Parade line up begins at 2:30 PM, with all floats in place by 3:30 PM. Instructions and directions will be emailed to Parade participants.

Register for the Parade

This years parade will start at 4 PM from the south end of Wilton Drive.  Release forms and instructions will be incorporated into the registration page.

Parade Entry Fees

May 1 Pricing.

  • Late Parade Entry $600 (After June 13th)

Non Profit/Government 30% discount for above fees except late fees.

            WMEG Wilton Manors Stonewall Parade 2017

These rules & regulations have been established to ensure the safety of the parade participants as well as par​a​de spectators & to comply with our insurance requirements. Please review these rule​​s & regulations carefully as​ these will be strictly enforced. ​Any person or group in violation of these rule​​s & regulations will be removed from the parade, ​may be fined up to $500 & banned from future participation. ​

Parade Line u​p​

Line up Starts at 1:00 PM and ends at 3pm with Parade starting at 4pm.

For 95% of participants the placement in line is based on arrival time to the parade grounds.  If you want to be closer to the front then arrive early.

​While we attempt to accommodate a​s​ many wishes as possible, there are a number of factors that determine your placement in the Parade. The direction and the decision of the Parade Officials at the launch site are final. ​

Parking

There is no free parking for parade participants. Parking is available on the South end of the High School lot at the parade line up entrance and at Aquatic Center across the street for Ft Lauderdale High School, 1600 N 4th​ ​Ave, Ft Lauderdale for $10.

Rules Affecting all Parade Entries

  • All registrations and associated entry fees must be in full in order to secure your place in​ the parade lineup.
  • Any entry arriving​ after 3:0​0 PM on the day of the parade may not be able to participate in the parade. All late arrivals will be placed as space and time permit but is not guaranteed.
  • No items can​ b​e thrown into the crowd. ​Giveaways including candy, ​beads, ​stickers etc. ​must be handed from walkers to spectators, ​but not in a way that causes a safety hazard or slows down the progression of the parade.
  • No open flames or fireworks of any kind are permitted.
  • Entrants, ​if​ playing music, ​are responsible for supplying their own sound system. ​
  • I​n​ order to avoid lar​g​e gaps in the parade, ​stopping for performances or demonstrations will not be allowed unless approved in advance.
  • Law enforcement officials​ & Parade Marshals will direct the flow of the parade. Please allow for at least 20 ft between each entry.
  • Positions are assigned to​ ensure the best parade experience for entrants & viewers. Special requests will be considered but are not guaranteed.
  • You and your entire group must listen to and comply with all directions given by law enforcement officials and Parade Marshals.
  • No person under the influence of alcohol or drugs shall be allowed to operate a motor ​vehicle during the parade. The Parade Marshall reserves the right ​to remove any participant, ​f​or any activity deemed unsafe or in violation of any rules contained herein, ​o​r action or inaction that ​may cause any delay to the progress of the parade. ​
  • The Wilton Manors Entertainment Group, Inc.(WMEG) has final authority over the acceptability of all entries a​n​d the position of all entries in the parade line up​. ​
  • WMEG reserves the right to reject any entry that does not meet the requirements. ​If​​ any doubt as to whether or not an​ entry conforms to these requirements, ​please contact WMEG in advance with entry description. ​N​o refunds will be given for entries that fail to meet these requirements.
  • Parade organizers and/​or ​sponsors assume no liability for any property damage or personal injuries.
  • All parade fees are non-refundable.
  • Groups will not be allowed to display any campaigning or advertising material that has not been approved by WMEG in advance. Parade Marshall has authority at site to remove any sign or banner deemed not acceptable. Failure to comply will eliminate vehicle/group from the parade.
  • All​ vehicle s​signage must conform to the spirit of the parade

Entries with Animals​​

“Animals”​ here refers to horses, elephants and other large animals​, ​not cats, dogs, ​o​r other household pets. ​T​hose planning to​ have animals within​ their contingent ​must ​make prior arrangements w​it​h WMEG. In accordance​ with city​y ordinances you are responsible for cleaning​ up after your animals in the parade assembly area and along the parade route. ​

Rules Affecting Specific Entry Types

Walking Groups

  • Groups must stay together in your assigned line up position. ​
  • Each group should be in uniform or costume a​and ​maintain a banner or sign ​recognizing your group. ​
  • Children m​must be at least twelve (​12) years of age, ​or obtain advance approval, to walk or march in the parade.
  • No ​group shall stop or otherwise​ slow the parade procession without advance permission.
  • Signs and banners to one (2) per walking group with a banner size of 3′ ​x​ 1​ 0′.​ ​Any exceptions must receive approval from WMEG prior to the date of the event.

 

   Vehicles and Motorcycles

 

  • All d​rivers must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and​ possess a valid ​driver’s​​ license, have a valid registration & ​insurance.
  • A copy of the driver’s license, ​registration &​ insurance must be submitted to WMEG. by email to vpo@wmeg.org ​no later than 5​ PM on Wednesday June 14, 2017.
  • Pic​king up passengers during the parade is prohibited.
  • Signs and banners are limited t​o two (6) per float with a banner size that fits on the float. Any exceptions must receive approval from Wilton Manors Entertainment Group prior ​to the date of the event.
  • Vehicles will not be allowed to display any campaigning or advertising material that is not directly related to the group registration. Parade Marshall has authority at site to remove any sign or banner deemed not acceptable. Failure to comply will eliminate vehicle/group from the parade.
  • All​ vehicle s​signage must conform to the spirit of the parade. Parade Marshall has authority at site to remove any sign or banner deemed not acceptable. Failure to comply will eliminate vehicle/group from the parade.

 

Floats

  • All d​rivers must be at least eighteen (18) years of age &​ possess a valid d​driver’s​​ license, have a valid registration & ​insurance.
  • A copy of the driver’s license, ​registration &​ insurance must be submitted to WMEG. by email to vpo@wmeg.org ​no later than 5​ PM on Wednesday June 14, 2017.
  • Pic​king up passengers during the parade is prohibited.
  • All Floats must provide a fire extinguisher
  • Vehicles must be in good physical a​s well a​s operating condition. All vehicles must be operated in a​ safe and responsible manner. ​
  • Only one (1) vehicle per entry, no exceptions.
  • All registrations must include a detailed description and sketch or other illustration of the entry.
  • Signs and banners are limited t​o what fits entirely on the float. Any exceptions must receive approval from Wilton Manors Entertainment Group prior ​to the date of the event.

 

Vehicle / Float Dimensions

All entries must comply with the following maximum dimensions. Entries that are larger than this will be unable to maneuver the parade route or may be unable to clear power lines and other obstacles.

  • Height: 1​2 feet (to clear power lines)
  • Length: 4​0 feet
  • Width: 100 inches (including rails)
  • Street Clearance: 12 inches above ground
